The actual move went fine. It started four hours late and a 2 man crew showed up instead of a 3 man crew. Would have appreciated more communication on the changes. One of the crew members was great (Jamal). Crew leader (Phil) was very strange - overly flirtatious and sweetie/honey'ed me the whole move. Also "confided" that he was the only employee at the whole company without a criminal record. Um, thanks? But again, the moving part was good!

When I booked AMS in April, 2015, I was told my goods would be transported on 2, 27' AMS trucks with the overhang over the cab and would be provided at least 3 people. On May 4th, I contacted AMS to confirm our move for the week of June 22 (then narrowed it and confirmed to June 24 two weeks before). On Monday, June 22, I called AMS to confirm the move for Wednesday morning. I spoke with Ethan who asked if it would be ok if he sent two trucks on Wednesday to load, delivering one of them on Friday, June 26 and the other one on Sunday, June 28 (at no charge since they were extremely short handed)...I agreed. I told him they had to be at my house as early as possible since I needed to be out by 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. He assured me they would be there by 8:30 a.m., no problem. At 9:15 a.m. on the 24th, I called Ethan and asked where the crew was? He said they were running late. They arrived at 10:30 a.m. The driver was unaware they had a time constriction. Not only did they arrive late, they brought a smaller truck without the extention over the cab. An additional truck with 1 driver arrived at 1:00 (same size, smaller truck). At 4pm they called their supervisor (Jason) and informed him they would not be able to get all of our goods on the smaller vechiles..he brought out a small cargo van. Jason assured us we would have all of our items on Friday due to our inconvenience. After a VERY STRESSFUL day, we made our deadline with 20 minutes to spare. On Friday, we called Ethan to see what time they would arrive. He said they had to unload our merchandise from the 2.25 vechiles due to them being overweight and would bring both of them but with limited merchandise and the remaining on Sunday (he totally ignored what Jason told us). He said drivers were just leaving (at 10:00 a.m.). At 2:00, no driver. Called Ethan again who acted surprised they were not here, the driver called us and said running late around 4:00...showed up at 5:30 p.m. I phoned Ethan and told him we should NOT be responsible for any additional payment . He assured me we would be compensated. We made arrangements with the owner of this home to allow us in early since our mechandise was coming from Cincinnati along with having family members ready to help...which we all stood around WAITING). Our final truck showed up on Sunday at 1:30 with 2 people. I spoke with Jason (supervisor) about conversation with Ethan regarding no additional payment, he only reduced the fee by $600 (which of course we had to pay because we wanted our merchandise). Yes, it was compensation, but not nearly justifiable. We are now filing with Amy from your Customer Care department on damage to a new leather chair, solid wood cabinet and tables, ripped upholstery (among other items) (thank goodness I purchased mattress covers for all of our mattresses/box springs, THEY WERE FILTHY and most were ripped). It's hard enough on furniture and goods to be moved from a house to a truck and into a house let alone shuffled between other vehicles where ever they do their shuffling! This being our 6th contracted move is by far, the WORST, UNORGANIZED and DISAPPOINTING of all. I am so very thankful the for the three young strong guys, Nick, Chris and Ike. They worked so very hard and it was so hot that day. They did what I asked them and got as much in their truck as they could. They unloaded and were understanding of the situation and stress I was under with this move and my husband just getting home from surgery. They had to move a heavy elliptical in and out a couple of times. They were great to try to make it fit and when it didn't they put it back out in the garage for me. They were careful with my stuff and that was so greatly appreciated.

The movers did an excellent job. They were very helpful and patient. They packed and moved everything all in one day. We were very impressed. However, when it came to collecting the payment we were not informed that they would be collecting it 45 min before completion. I do not feel comfortable signing and paying for a move before it is completed. Also, they had to call someone else to collect the payment who clearly just wanted to go to sleep. We were finally able to get the situation settled, but not after some frustration.

I have to so that our move was not a great experience. While 3 of the 4 people working on our move were very hard working, the driver was not - and was not particularly careful with our belongings. Several pieces of furniture were damaged and a water in the basement, from when they unhooked the washer, was not turned off fully flooding the basement and making a real mess. I'm not a happy customer.

move date scheduled and discussed with Ethan- no one came to look at the job prior to move date even though we mentioned it to Ethan - he said it was not necessary. Crew showed up 5 hours late and told us that the truck was not big enough. I called Ethan and was told that there was not another truck available but they could possibly move us 3 days later. I was very upset because Ethan was aware that we had sold our home and had to be out that day. He was not helpful at all. After much back and forth, we (my husband and myself) had to rent a U-Haul in addition to the small truck your company sent and drive our furnishings from Cincinnati to Nashville Tn. That meant the my husband had to drive the rented U-Haul with his car towed behind it and I had to drive our RV with my vehicle towed behind. Because the drivers were 5 hours late, the trucks were not loaded until after 10 PM we were forced to spend the night in a rest area. The original agreement with All My Sons was for the movers to deliver the next day but they did not deliver until the day after that so we wasted an entire day in our empty residence. We feel like your company basically held us hostage because we had no option but to take was being offered to us which was not what agreed to. We believe we were taken advantage of in the worst way! The crew was fantastic. The office staff left a lot to be desired. I originally scheduled a Saturday move after 2pm. I received a call at 10:30 saying the crew was on the way. I explained that I requested a move after 2. The agent said that the crew would come between 3 and 6. I called at 6:10 and asked where the crew was. The same sales agent said that the crew would finish up in about fifteen minutes. However, If I had not called, I would not have known that. I rescheduled for Sunday after 2 and received a call at 12:30. Bad business. The agent also repeatedly called me by the wrong name even after having been corrected. The saving grace was the crew.

I have already filled out a review, but will fill out another in hopes of getting a reply. On a good note, the crew showed up on time and worked hard. The two older crew members did a good job and were personable. The younger crew member was not as friendly, had a non-effective method for moving boxes which caused him to drop several of them and breaking one of my clear totes. Not only that, but his carelessness caused damage to some of my walls, corners, ceiling going upstairs, HVAC duct work, aluminum siding on rear of house and broke the sliding doors to my laundry area (all of which were recently refinished/new prior to me moving in with the exception of the siding). My father ended up removing the sliding doors so I can get access to hook up my washer and dryer. The younger member also had a bad attitude. I overheard him in one occasion telling one of the other crew members that "he didn't care if he got written up". And in another instance where he took a call on his cell phone stating that, "maybe this will be his excuse to go home". Very unprofessional, and I feel that it was the head crew member's responsibility to address this particular crew member's job performance. I also would have been more appreciative if the crew was a little more honest about what damage they caused right off the bat, instead of me finding out on my own. During the initial phase of the move, I observed a few of my boxes being treated a little more roughly than I thought they should be. This caused me to worry about the welfare of some of my more fragile items, so I quickly moved those boxes into a closet and closed the door so I could move them later. This is a big issue for me because one of the main reasons I needed to hire a mover was because I am recently post-op spinal fusion and am not supposed to be lifting anything over 10 lbs. Unfortunately, in effort to "save" the items in those boxes I ended up carrying them from my second level apartment to my van, then into my house. There were about a dozen boxes, some weighing about 30 to 40 lbs. WAY more than I am medically able/allowed causing me pain and discomfort. Also, at the end of the move, the driver had me fill out a survey. But, while filling it out he watched me, making me feel like I couldn't be totally honest. Plus, there was damage to my property that I didn't notice until after they left (laundry doors, HVAC duct)and boxes clearly marked "kitchen" I needed to move upstairs from the basement. I have moved MANY times in state, out of state and Internationally and have learned to clearly mark on boxes where they belong and if they're fragile. In the survey, I was asked if I would recommend All My Sons to friends and family....I initially filled in "yes", but honestly I definitely would not. I feel a little screwed over that I ended up paying $1,147.30 and left to deal with the wreckage to my home, body and spirit. I feel that some compensation is due....I know the crew needs to get paid for the work done, but I also feel that my time and cost to address the damage done to my home and pain and suffering from having to move my own boxes and set up my own queen size bed is worth something too.

When they showed up they moved at a snails pace actually taking pieces that were to be thrown away and hurling them down the hill busting to pieces. When to the new location workers chit chatted using the bathroom then later washing their hands. When paying the bill they had to call office and had to use my phone..conversing with someone about someone else's move. Wanted me to write down a time that was later than the time it was. Almost everything went wrong during our move. I paid for a partial pack (kitchen and dining room) and neither of these things were completed. The packing that was done was TERRIBLE. There was no special packing material used - only boxes and paper like I could do myself. Glasses were packed in boxes without being wrapped at all (and they broke...surprise, surprise), and partial bottles of wine were put in boxes LAYING DOWN and leaked onto the boxes and the new carpet at my new house. On the second day of the move we realized a third of my kitchen was never packed at all on the first day, and I had to bring friends over to finish the job because the crew packed so slowly and CARELESSLY that I couldn’t stand to have them continue the packing. The crew couldn't move exercise equipment to the truck from my basement and said it was because the equipment needed to be disassembled and we didn't have the manuals, and D&R Movers got it done today without ANY issues (and without disassembling anything). When the crew hooked up my washer/dryer at the new house, they failed to tighten the hoses to the machines. The crew took constant breaks, disappearing for long periods of time near the truck, smoking and complaining. They carried very little per trip to the truck, stretching out the length of time they were working, and complained/requested that we buy them lunch (“because most homeowners buy lunch for us"). After two full days, my move was STILL not complete, and I had to hire another moving company for a THIRD day of moving after All My Sons failed to finish the job, to complete the move, because this crew couldn't seem to do it. When the crew found out that we were not happy with the progress of our move, they began mouthing off directly to us, and telling us they were furious with their manager. The captain simply said he could not control the mouths of his crew. The All My Sons office did the right thing, and adjusted my charges accordingly, but I will never hire this company again. Horrible move, horrible service, horrible experience. HORRIBLE.

I had called multiple movers for our Dayton to Cincinnati move, we didn't want to do the Uhaul thing this time. I was quoted 3 hours based on the 1300 sq ft of our condo. When the men arrived, they said "no problem, it will be about an hour to load up". We had all boxes ready, we had shrink wrapped all dressers and cabinets to keep the drawers in. The bed was the only item that needed taken apart. They arrived at 9:15 and didn't leave until 11:30. What was supposed to be 3 hours turned into 6 hours. To keep it under 6 hours we asked them to just put it all in the basement and we would deal with it. We were quoted $359.00, we planned for $500.00 and ended up paying $850.00. Not happy about that at all. The crew said it happens all the time, I really think you need to evaluate your price quote system.
